Quick And Easy Snack For Diabetes

As diabetes patients, we often feel hungry all the time but almost all the foods available spike our blood sugar most of the time. Don't worry, I will give you my favorite snacks that are easy, quick, and most importantly will not spike your blood sugar.



Nuts:

a handful of walnuts or almonds, or pistachios, or Brazilian nuts is the quickest and the easiest snack ever. Nuts are great fatty acids sources that are healthy and will keep you full for sure. Just make sure no extra salt or flour is added to them.


Cucumber salad:

Cucumber is loaded with water. It's easy to make and always present in your fridge. Here's my favorite recipe 🥒🥗

Cut the Cucumber into small pieces🥒 Add 1 cup of plain yogurt or Greek yogurt. Cut some fresh mint leaves and add them and a pinch of salt. You can add whatever you like but make sure it won't spike your Sugar.


Green smoothies:

smoothies are an excellent and quick snack. You can throw your veggies and fruits in the blender and that's it. However, choose green leaves veggies. They are healthy. Whereas, for the fruits choose the one that has a low glycemic index like strawberries, berries, and so on.

Chia pudding:

chia is an excellent addition to the diabetes diet and a must-have. It's a good fiber and protein which are recommended for diabetics. Moreover, it will keep you full for longer periods. There are several chia pudding recipes here is my favorite.

Half banana🍌 smash it add 1 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 cup of plain yogurt and 1 tbsp of Chia seeds mix it well and voilà.


These were my favorite snacks. However, as a diabetic, I try to limit my meals and I try to avoid snacking. Because the more we eat the more we spike our sugar levels and we develop this bad habit of eating and snacking more.
